Last Thursday was the Fashion’s Night Out night, a great idea conceived by Anna Wintour (I love that woman) that meant that all luxury (and non so luxury) shops would be opened until midnight, when the spell would vanish. I didn’t take the camera with me because it is very heavy and it is quite tiring having to take it everywere.
-We (Ariadna and I) began at Ortega & Gasset, where we found the Vogue tent. They gave us the golden passport, as we said we were press. As I had imagined, the invitation that you had to ask on the FNO website wasn’t necessary, it is like you were asked for an accreditation in order to shop, something like you were told: “hey, you can’t buy anything here”.
- The freebies that were supposed to be handed over at the shops were nonexistent. Well, at least I didn’t see any free gift. They ran out of them in the first five minutes. Nevertheless, there was champagne and wine everywhere.
- The Missoni bag that was €30 was ridiculous, as Mamen told me. I’ve seen a picture and I think no one would ever wear something like that. The idea was cool, but hey, the bag was hideous and tacky.
- Then we headed to Dior, but we didn’t see the Vogue covers exhibition that was supposed to be there. Yolanda Sacristán, (Vogue Spain editor in chief) was there, wearing a Balmain dress.
- In Chanel I saw a pair of high heels (the classics, bicolour), that I absolutely adore. The heel was quite high, and thick. They were strangely “cheap”, just €300 or so.
- In 47 Velázquez, Espacio de Creadores, we met La Ratita Presumida, Lady B, Mamen Diaz-Alersi, Trendy and Charm y E-coolsystem, the funniest bloggers I’ve ever met. We met there Lydia Delgado's press team too.
- Then we visited Josep Font’s boutique, which, by the way, is so cute (the boutique). It is very nicely decorated, even though it is smaller that what you would expect from a respectable Haute Couture brand, the furniture and the walls were very personal and unique. We met there Josep Font and his team, who were incredibly nice to us. Carla Royo-Villanova was trying on some of the dresses. In my opinion, the dresses she chose were the most beautiful ones, and she looked great on them. You can see the pictures here.

So, the night was fun, but if we think of what was going on in New York, Paris, London… I could have met Karl Lagerfeld, Marc Jacobs, the Olsen, I could have seen Anna Wintour shopping…
For me it has been just a day that the shops were open, the streets were crowded, and there were queues to get into Gucci.

El jueves estuve en la Fashion's Night Out, una idea genial concebida por Anna Wintour (me encanta esta mujer) que consistía en que las tiendas de lujo (y no tan lujo) abrieran hasta las 12 de la noche, momento en el que el encantamiento se desvanecía. No me llevé la cámara de fotos porque pesa un montón, y la verdad es que cargarla de un sitio a otro es agotador.
-Empezamos en Ortega & Gasset, Ariadna y yo, donde encontramos la carpa de Vogue y donde nos dieron el pasaporte dorado al decir que éramos de prensa. Como ya me imaginaba, la invitación que debías solicitar por internet no valía para nada, sólo faltaba que para entrar en una tienda te tuvieran que pedir una acreditación, es casi como si te dijeran: "Eh, que no puedes comprar aquí".
- Los regalitos que se suponía que daban las tiendas no existían, se agotaron en cinco minutos. Eso sí, había copas de champagne y de vino por todas partes, sushi, aperitivos, y eran muy amables.
- El bolso de Missoni que valía 30€ era de risa, según me ha contado Mamen, he visto una foto y nadie en su sano juicio llevaría algo así. La idea era buena, pero podrían haberse esforzado un poco más.
-Entramos en Dior, pero no encontramos la exposición de portadas de Vogue. Yolanda Sacristán (editora in chief de Vogue España) se pasó por allí llevando un vestido de Balmain.
- En Chanel vi unos zapatos de tacón (los clásicos bicolor), los de siempre, pero que me encantaron. Eran extrañamente "baratos", unos 300€.
- En Velázquez 47, Espacio de Creadores, nos encontramos con La Ratita Presumida, Lady B, Mamen Diaz-Alersi, Cris de Trendy and Charm y E-coolsystem, los bloggers más divertidos que he conocido. También estaba el equipo de prensa de Lydia Delgado.
- Después fuimos a la tienda de Josep Font, que por cierto, es preciosa. Pequeñita pero muy bien aprovechada, y decorada con muy buen gusto. Allí conocimos a Josep Font, simpatiquísimo, y a Carla Royo-Villanova, que se estaba probando unos vestidos de la colección., que en mi opinión eran los más bonitos. Le quedaban muy bien, podéis ver las fotos aquí.
En resumen, todo estuvo muy bien, pero la verdad es que si lo comparamos con cómo ha sido en Nueva York, París, Londres... empiezo a pensar que podría haber conocido a Karl Lagerfeld, a Marc Jacobs, a las Olsen, haber visto a Anna Wintour de compras...
A mí me pareció simplemente un día en el que las tiendas abrían por la noche, las calles estaban llenas de gente y había que hacer cola para entrar en las tiendas.

Vogue UK October cover is beautiful, the picture is one of the best I've ever seen, I really like Sienna's expression, full of happiness, it looks quite sincere. So bad they put so many titles that we can't hardly see her /// La portada de Octubre de Vogue UK es preciosa, la foto es una de las más bonitas que he visto. El gesto de Sienna me paree muy sincero. Qué pena que lo hayan estropeado con tantos titulares.
