True Women: Rachel Bilson (Part I)

What do you think of Rachel Bilson? I think she's really stylish and elegant, she knows very well what flatters her and what doesn't. She wears a lot of scarves, jeans, and sunglasses, as well as minidresses and long dresses, which are a difficult piece for short girls.

How to turn advertising into art: Fendi FW 2010

Anja Rubik in a Edward Hopper picture. I'm impressed, Mr. Lagerfeld. Although he has many haters, I really admire Karl Lagerfeld. I once asked a friend that works at Chanel how he was capable of doing so many things: design more than six collections for Chanel every year, design for Fendi, for his two own labels, photograph all the campaigns, write books, make editorials, organize art exhibitions... She told me that the words "vacation" and "holiday" are not in his vocabulary.

Here you have the latest Fendi campaign, which I found truly beautiful.

Una vez le pregunté a una persona que trabaja en Chanel cómo es posible que Karl pueda hacer tantas cosas: diseñar más de seis líneas para Chanel al año, diseñar para Fendi, para sus propias dos marcas, fotografiar todas la campañas, hacer editoriales, escribir libros, organizar exposiciones de arte... Me contestó que las palabras "vacaciones" y "tiempo libre" no están en su vocabulario.

Aquí os dejo la última campaña para Fendi, que me ha parecido realmente preciosa.

Play with fire - Karlotalaspalas S/S 2011

Karlotalaspalas' latest collection was sublime (new favourite word thanks to Barney Stinson from "How I met your mother"). I wish there were womenswear too. The burn details of the clothes and the elegant and natural jackets are certainly a perfect match.

The models had burning incense inside their pockets, so when they were walking down the runway it seemed that the clothes were actually being burned at that precise moment because of the smoke. It was a very cool effect.

La última colección de Karlotalaspalas fue sublime (mi nueva palabra favorita gracias a Barney Stinson de "Cómo conocí a vuestra madre"). Ojalá hiciera ropa de mujer también. Los detalles de las quemaduras y las elegantes y naturales chaquetas son ciertamente una combinación perfecta.

Los modelos llevaban incienso consumiéndose en sus bolsillos, y el humo que salía de ellos hacía parecer que la ropa estaba quemándose en ese momento. Un efecto increíble.
