The staple pieces on my wardrobe take actually more space than the no-basics. The leather jacket, the little black dress, the trench, white shirts, a masculine shirt, a good pair of high heels... The list keeps getting longer. Camel shorts? Of course they are a basic. Fur coat? (synthetic) Essential. It's difficult to decide which is the key piece, that piece from which you can create infinite outfits. But if there exists a basic piece, I honestly think that it's a pair of jeans. Unfortunately, finding the perfect pair is an impossible challenge. There's always something wrong. Luckily, the torture in front of the mirror at the fitting room is over.
Levi's just launched the Levi's Curve ID, a collection of jeans defined as the perfect jeans ever. The measures of hundreds of women were studied to establish three standard fits: Slight, Demi, and Bold Curve. Because with jeans, the size is not enough. I've worn a pair of these jeans, and believe me, it's magical how they fit.
They've chosen three women to star in the campaign: Likke Ly, (whose fit is "Slight Curve), Pixie Geldof (she's "Demi Curve"), and Miss Nine (Bold Curve). They were photographed by Peter Lindbergh The Great. You'll hear more about them soon...

Los básicos en mi armario al final acaban ocupando más espacio que los no-básicos. La cazadora de cuero, el little black dress, un trench, camisetas blancas, una camisa masculina, unos buenos tacones, un traje de chaqueta... Y la lista se va alargando. ¿Shorts camel? Otro básico, ¿Abrigo de piel (sintética)? Igual de importante. Es difícil decidir cuál es la pieza clave, aquella con la que puedes crear infinitos looks para variadas ocasiones. Pero si existe una prenda básica, creo sinceramente que se trata de los pantalones vaqueros. Desafortunadamente, encontrar el par perfecto es todo un logro. Siempre hay algo que falla. "Me sienta bien, pero me queda un poco ancho por los lados"... "La forma no me convence"... Por suerte, la tortura ante el espejo del probador tiene los días contados.
