Mango / Burberry Trench Coat

I'm in love with this trench coat since I saw it at the Mango S/S 2010 fashion show. It's inspired by the Burberry coats you see below. The Mango version is 90€ more or less (available here) . Should I buy it?

Sheila Márquez's home

I had the pleasure of meeting Sheila Márquez in Madrid Fashion Week, and although she was always in a rush and we couldn't interview her for the video, she always smiled when I asked her for a photo.

She lives in a beautiful flat in Brooklyn, and Harper's Bazaar Spain made a feature of it (in this month's issue, June). It proves my theory: If you are stylish when you get dressed, you are stylish decorating too.

Tuve el placer de conocer a Sheila Márquez en Cibeles, y aunque siempre estaba con prisas y no pudimos entrevistarla para nuestro vídeo, siempre sonreía cuando le pedía hacerle una foto.

Vive en un bonito apartamento en Brooklyn, y Harper's Bazaar España ha hecho un pequeño reportaje este mes (aparece en el número de Junio). Esto prueba mi teoría: si tienes estilo al vestir, tienes estilo para decorar.

The real Gabrielle Chanel

These photos are from the book "Mademoiselle, Summer '62". Douglas Kirkland, a young american photographer, spent the weeks of july (summer of '62), as Gabrielle Chanel prepared one of her collections. According to Karl's prologue in the book, it was one of her last influent collections, as fashion was doing a 180º turn and miniskirts (which she hated) were dominating the wardrobes of the women.

I found these photos extremely adorable. I had never seen Gabrielle smiling and playing in front of the camera.

Estas fotos pertenecen al libro "Mademoiselle, Summer 62". Douglas Kirkland, un joven fotógrafo americano, pasó las semanas de julio del año 1962 junto a Gabrielle Chanel mientras ésta preparaba una de sus colecciones. Según el texto de Karl Lagerfeld que aparece en el libro, fue una de sus últimas colecciones influyentes, ya que la moda estaba cambiando y ella odiaba la minifalda que amenazaba con invadir todos los armarios.

Las fotos me han parecido adorables. Nunca había visto a Coco sonriendo y haciendo bromas enfrente de la cámara.

Harry Potter's girlfriend

The Harry Potter series are one of my favourite books. Yes, they might not be Shakespeare, but I think that J.K. Rowling did an amazing job. When I was little, I devoured all the books. It was like discovering a new world full of fantastic things, that even made me believe I'd get a letter from Hogwarts when I turned eleven.

I was reading the new issue of Dirrtyglam (available online here), when I came across these beautiful pictures of Bonnie Wright, who plays Ginny Weasley in the movies. Ginny becomes a very important character, but I won't say anything, because one of the things I hate the most is when people tell me the end of a story. She's changed a lot since we saw her at the King's Cross scene, hasn't she?

Los libros de Harry Potter son de mis favoritos. Sí, puede que no sean Shakespeare, pero creo que J.K. Rowling consiguió escribir una gran historia. Cuando era pequeña, devoraba todos los libros. Era como descubrir un mundo nuevo lleno de cosas fantásticas, que incluso me hizo pensar que al cumplir los once años me llegaría la carta de Hogwarts.

Estaba leyendo el nuevo número de Dirrtyglam (disponible online aquí), cuando me he encontrado con estas fotos de Bonnie Wright, que hace de Ginny Weasley en las películas. Luego tiene un papel muy importante en la historia, pero por si acaso no lo digo, porque una de las cosas que más odio es que me cuenten el final de las historias. Bonnie ha cambiado muchísimo desde que la vimos en aquella escena en King's Cross el primer día de colegio.

Vintage treasures from Chanel - 2.55 and more

Chanel organized an special event for bloggers in Madrid yesterday to show us the Coco Cocoon handbags collection. We met at the Chanel offices and then we had lunch at a beautiful (and tasty!) restaurant called Tartan (yes, like the fabric. It would have more ironic if the restaurant had been called "Tweed"). We had a great time, really.

We had the opportunity to have a look at the wardrobe. You can't imagine the things that are kept there. Dozens of handbags, tons of jewellery (a post about it soon), several coats, jackets, and the iconic pieces from the latest collection (the clogs, the yeti boots and the Chewbacca jacket...)

The collection of vintage handbags and purses that they carefully stocked was the most impressive thing.

Chanel organizó ayer una reunión para bloggers en sus oficinas de Madrid con la ocasión de enseñarnos la colección de bolsos Coco Cocoon. Después de visitar las oficinas, fuimos a comer a un restaurante muy mono llamado Tartán (sí, como la tela. Habría sido buenísimo que se hubiera llamado "Tweed"). Fue estupendo, la verdad.

Tuvimos la oportunidad de ver los archivos de las colecciones que tenían en los armarios de las oficinas. No os podéis imaginar las cosas que había allí. Docenas de bolsos, toneladas de bisutería, abrigos, chaquetas, y las piezas icónicas de las últimas colecciones (los zuecos, las botas de yeti, el abrigo Chewbacca...)

La colección de bolsos y carteras de mano vintage que guardaban cuidadosamente en los estantes fue lo más impresionante.
