Every season the new Chanel collection travels from city to city visiting the main boutiques all around the world. Some of the items from the collection are shown to the press, so they can see the clothes and start thinking about which ones they'll use for the editorials, the articles...
I was invited to the Chanel F/W 2010 collection presentation (yes, the one with the iceberg!) and I had the opportunity to touch the ice handbags and the yeti boots. By the way, if you want to have one of those, there is a very long waiting list to get them! Can you believe it? Oh, when I was at the boutique there was a woman trying on a pair of clogs... I wonder if she bought them.
Cada temporada, la nueva colección de Chanel viaja de ciudad en ciudad visitando las principales boutiques de todo el mundo. Algunas piezas de la colección se enseñan a la prensa, para que puedan ver las prendas y empezar a pensar en cuáles usarán en las editoriales, los artículos...
Fui invitada a la presentación de Chanel Otoño/Invierno 2010 (sí, ¡la del iceberg!) en Madrid y tuve la oportunidad de tocar los bolsos que parecen estar hechos de hielo, y las botas yeti. Por cierto, si queréis un par de las botas chewbacca, hay una larga lista de espera para conseguirlas! ¿Podéis creerlo? Ah, y mientras estaba en la tienda vi a una chica probándose unos zuecos... Me pregunto si los compró finalmente.
The presentation was in the Madrid boutique (Ortega y Gasset 19), whose window had been broken by three burglars that entered the shop at 3:00 in the morning. They broke the glass using a hammer, and they stole various handbags and ran away. They were videotaped by the security cameras. Fortunately, the new collection hadn't arrived to the shop yet. Imagine, those were almost unique pieces that had to be shipped to Milan or Tokyo on the next day! Chanel was one of the very few boutiques on that street that hadn't been burglared yet.
La presentación fue en la boutique de Madrid en Ortega y Gasset nº19, cuyo escaparate había sido destrozado por tres ladrones que entraron en la tienda a las 3:00 de la mañana. Rompieron el cristal con un mazo, robaron varios bolsos y huyeron. Las cámaras de seguridad grabaron todo. Afortunadamente, la nueva colección no había llegado a la tienda aún. Imaginaos, son piezas prácticamente únicas que tenían que viajar al día siguiente a Milán o Tokio! Chanel era una de las pocas tiendas de esa calle en la que nunca habían robado.
