Twenty8Twelve S/S 2011

When I was in London I fell in love with the english socialite scene. Henry Holland, Pixie Geldof, Alexa Chung... Everyone seemed spontaneous and natural. I didn't see Matthew Williamson (member of the english fashion's elite), but I interviewed him some weeks ago for the latest issue of Showdown. Judging by his answers, I bet he's a great guy too!

Last week the S/S 2011 collection of Twenty&Twelve show took place in London. Sienna Miller, friend of Matthew, and Savannah, have created a collection that reminds me of Coney Island, I don't know why, I've never been there. Do you like the outfits? I haven't made up my mind yet... Well, the front row was awesome: Jude Law, Matthew, Poppy Delevigne (I still don't know what that girl does for a living), Pîxie...

Baywatch by Krizia Robustella

I need that t-shirt! It would look great with a bathing suit at the beach... And who doesn't remember David Hasselhoff as Mitch Buchannon in "Baywatch"?

It's from Krizia Robustella's S/S 2011 collection

Play with fire - Karlotalaspalas S/S 2011

karlotalaspalas
Karlotalaspalas' latest collection was sublime (new favourite word thanks to Barney Stinson from "How I met your mother"). I wish there were womenswear too. The burn details of the clothes and the elegant and natural jackets are certainly a perfect match.

The models had burning incense inside their pockets, so when they were walking down the runway it seemed that the clothes were actually being burned at that precise moment because of the smoke. It was a very cool effect.

Manuel Bolaño: The collection of a master

manuel bolano

Thank God I didn't miss this fashion show at 080 Barcelona Fashion. I had never seen such a beautiful collection like this one (maybe except for the last José Castro collection). One thing is a wearabe collection that suits your style, and that you would buy, and other thing is a work of art. Manuel Bolaño's was a work of art. No wonder he won the 080 Prize.

The collection is a mix between "Star Wars" and Givenchy Haute Couture 2009. It was full of details. Complex knitting, embroideries made of golden crucifixes, soft feathers...

I keep my Chanel in the fridge: The Ice Cube Handbags (Chanel F/W 2010)

chanel ice cube

We all know that Karl Lagerfeld is eccentric. Well, have a look at John Galliano. Two of the best designers ever. In Karl's case, the peculiarity of the character is translated to the runway with him. You want an authentic iceberg from Sweden? We'll ship it to Paris, no problem. You want a 15 mettres tall tweed jacket? Here you have it. I find this kind of things curious, like the yeti-esque coats that he presented in the latest collection, or the petanque balls with the Chanel logo on them from the S/S 2010 collection.

About the iceberg, I wonder how they sent it to Paris. I guess that they shipped it by boat and then in a lorry. It reminded me of that Futurama episode in which they tell Fry that from 2063 a giant ice cube had to be dropped to the ocean in order to avoid global warming, but given the seriousness of the climate change, a bigger ice cube had to be dropped every time.

Screencap of that scene from Futurama:

Probably you've already seen the collection, as we usually look forward to Chanel a little eager than the rest of collections, to see "what Karl's come up with this time". Personally, I really liked the theme of the collection, I'd love to travel to the Pole someday (preferrably dressed in Chanel). Also, Karl said this: "You cannot fake chic but you can be chic in fake fur". He's right!. Oh, and these ice cube handbags caught my attention. Aren't they brilliant?

------------------
