Play with fire - Karlotalaspalas S/S 2011

Karlotalaspalas' latest collection was sublime (new favourite word thanks to Barney Stinson from "How I met your mother"). I wish there were womenswear too. The burn details of the clothes and the elegant and natural jackets are certainly a perfect match.

The models had burning incense inside their pockets, so when they were walking down the runway it seemed that the clothes were actually being burned at that precise moment because of the smoke. It was a very cool effect.

La última colección de Karlotalaspalas fue sublime (mi nueva palabra favorita gracias a Barney Stinson de "Cómo conocí a vuestra madre"). Ojalá hiciera ropa de mujer también. Los detalles de las quemaduras y las elegantes y naturales chaquetas son ciertamente una combinación perfecta.

Los modelos llevaban incienso consumiéndose en sus bolsillos, y el humo que salía de ellos hacía parecer que la ropa estaba quemándose en ese momento. Un efecto increíble.

Manuel Bolaño: The collection of a master

Thank God I didn't miss this fashion show at 080 Barcelona Fashion. I had never seen such a beautiful collection like this one (maybe except for the last José Castro collection). One thing is a wearabe collection that suits your style, and that you would buy, and other thing is a work of art. Manuel Bolaño's was a work of art. No wonder he won the 080 Prize.

The collection is a mix between "Star Wars" and Givenchy Haute Couture 2009. It was full of details. Complex knitting, embroideries made of golden crucifixes, soft feathers...

Doy gracias por no haberme perdido este desfile en la pasarela 080 Barcelona Fashion. Nunca había visto una colección tan maravillosa (exceptuando quizás la última de José Castro). Una cosa es una colección ponible que se adapta a tu estilo y que podrías comprar, y otra cosa es una obra de arte. La de Manuel Bolaño es una obra de arte. No me extraña que ganara el Premio 080.

La colección es una mezcla entre "La Guerra de las Galaxias" y Givenchy Alta Costura 2009. Está plagada de detalles. Punto complejísimo, bordados hechos con crucifijos dorados, plumas...

Models Backstagestyle

I was in Barcelona at the 080 Barcelona Fashion (like a mini fashion week of independent designers) the last three days. I saw really good fashion shows (pics soon!) and took photos at backstage.

Beatriz, a very nice model :)


Here she is taking photos of the other models having their make-up done. It's amazing how easily they changed her hairstyle.



Note for me: Never cut the feet on a picture again!
