YoDona International Awards party and Shakira's new fragrance presentation

Tuesday was the most surreal day I've ever lived. I met Shakira in the morning and I saw the 100% of the spanish celebrity system in the night.

YoDona had organized a mega party + dinner in a beautiful country-esque house in Madrid. The reason: the International Awards that Malalai Joya and Benedetta Tagliabue were receiving. YoDona is known for throwing memorable parties, but I didn't know they were that good! I wore a casual dress, and everyone was wearing gowns and long dresses... I should have worn my H&M Garden Collection dress! I thought I would have been overdressed if I had worn it, but not.

We arrived at 21:00. I was accompanied by El blog de Moda, Doublecloth, Maria from E-coolsystem, Yonomeaburro, Petitececile and La Condesa.. We had been invited by the fabulous Araceli. I couldn't believe what my eyes were seeing. It was like: "Hey, that's Ana Locking! And Carlos Díez! And Rossy Palma! Oh, and there's David Delfin! AND STUART VEVERS!" There were around 400 guests, and all of them were celebrities, actors, actresses, politicians, editors, artists...

We shared our table with a photographer, tv producers, editors, and an actor. While we were having dinner, we talked about the benefits of having a blog and using Twitter (well, we, the bloggers, convinced them, they just listened and stared at us like we were the geekest people of the room). The room was so crowded, it was like a dream. Every person I saw on the tv and in the magazines was there.

Shakira's new fragrance

On the same day, I attended the presentation of Shakira's new (and first) fragrance: S by Shakira. The event was held in a beautiful building in the centre of Madrid. Shakira was one of my favourite singers when I was a kid, and I think that she's a really kind and nice person. She is indeed, even if everybody was pushing her to get a photo and an autograph, she smiled all the time. She had had her make-up done by the great Beatriz Matallana, make-up artist of Madrid Fashion Week.

The rooms of the building had been decorated accordingly to the different scents that composed the fragrance: jasmine, sandalwood and ambar mixed with vanilla.

Ana Locking's Spinning Destiny (F/W 2010 Collection) - Before & After

ana locking, missatlaplaya

Ana Locking never disappoints. It's one of those shows you are looking forward, because you know that she's gonna present something new, original, always in a Locking's style. Furthermore, she adds a story to her collections that explains the whole look and unifies the different outfits. In this case, the title was "Spinning destiny", inspired by a painting game where you added the paint, and the machine would go round and round, creating fantastic shapes and drawings. That's how destiny works. You add the ingredients and fate does the rest. Ana talks about those things a lot, no matter how hard you work, the destiny will always play a part. But if the collection is as good as this one, no destiny can spoil it.

The futuristic cuts (and the Avatar hairstyle), the cheerful colours (winter is no synonymous of grey and black), and Ana's personal touch: the models walked along the runway next to the spinning circle, reached the end of the runway and left through the public exit. If we dress à la Ana Locking in 200 years, it'll be great (and we can do it now).

I visited the backstage minutes before the show and took some pictures.

-------------------

Ana Locking nunca defrauda.

Special Collaborations for Yoox Event

yoox
I was invited to the Yoox Special Projects presentation, where they showed some of the future collaborations (I've seen them, and wow, it is promising!. They wouldn't allow photographs though) as well of the present sales, like books, exclusive handbags, vintage collections...

The place was great, an attic in Ortega & Gasset (like Saint Honoré, but in Madrid). You could see almost all the city from there. We saw Ana Locking and talked about her next project: a presentation in NY of her new collection along with Duyos, Carmen March and Juanjo Oliva. We wish you good luck!
