The Levi's perfect jeans presentation: A concert, a shop, Pixie Geldof...

This summer's been crazy. I've been to New York, Paris, Barcelona... and London! I was invited by Levi's to the presentation of the Curve ID Jeans, (which I already posted about) on 2d September. We flew to London and stayed at the St. Martin's Hotel (in St. Martin's Lane). Apparently, it is a very famous hotel. The decoration was great, modern, minimal, and original (golden tooth-shaped tables at the lobby were the kitsch touch).

We were shown the jeans, and then we saw the video of the campaign. I was surprised by Pixie Geldof's deep voice, she sounds like a boy! Hahah. Nevertheless, she seemed a spontaneous and funny person. I've become a Pixie Geldof fan (and plus, she can sing! More details on that below). The jeans fit like they were made in heaven. I'm serious, you need to try them. It's like they were custom made. If you visit their website, you'll be able to know which type are you (Slight, Demi, or Bold Curve) by introducing your measures.

The fitting session...

After knowing all the information about the jeans, we had lunch at Aqua (240 Regent Street), a japanese restaurant. The food was great (order the Black Sesame Ice Cream. I tried it for the first time encouraged by the group and I loved it). We headed to the Levi's Flagship Store, enjoyed a walk around London, and returned to the hotel to get ready for the party.

The insides of the shop

The party began at 8PM at Studio Valbonne. It was crowded with editors, bloggers, models (with their photobook on their back pockets, in case there was an editor interested), and the Levi's team. Between the guests I saw Liam Gallagher from Oasis (one of my music idols), Sadie Frost, Henry Holland, Bob Geldof (eager to see his daughter's first performance as a singer), and... Alexa Chung!!! I couldn't believe what my eyes were seeing. She looks prettier in person.

Pixie Geldof. Sorry for the blurry pictures, flash was not allowed.

The concerts started, brought by the three stars of the Levi's campaign. Lykke Li sang three songs, which I honestly found really good. One of them was "Dance, dance, dance". She told us she was working on her next album. She was followed by Pixie Geldof, who performed as the leader of her new band "The Violets" for the first time. Good news: She can sing! I had doubts, as she looked like the typical "daugthter of..." girl who goes through the "model, actress, musician, designer, dj" phases. But she's really talented. Can't wait to listen to their first album. Miss Nine DJ'ed until the party was over... No wonder she's such a famous DJ! The full party was dancing and jumping.

Este verano ha sido una locura. He estado en Nueva York, París, Barcelona... y Londres!

The perfect jeans exist

levis

The staple pieces on my wardrobe take actually more space than the no-basics. The leather jacket, the little black dress, the trench, white shirts, a masculine shirt, a good pair of high heels... The list keeps getting longer. Camel shorts? Of course they are a basic. Fur coat? (synthetic) Essential. It's difficult to decide which is the key piece, that piece from which you can create infinite outfits. But if there exists a basic piece, I honestly think that it's a pair of jeans. Unfortunately, finding the perfect pair is an impossible challenge. There's always something wrong. Luckily, the torture in front of the mirror at the fitting room is over.

Levi's just launched the Levi's Curve ID, a collection of jeans defined as the perfect jeans ever. The measures of hundreds of women were studied to establish three standard fits: Slight, Demi, and Bold Curve. Because with jeans, the size is not enough. I've worn a pair of these jeans, and believe me, it's magical how they fit.

They've chosen three women to star in the campaign: Likke Ly, (whose fit is "Slight Curve), Pixie Geldof (she's "Demi Curve"), and Miss Nine (Bold Curve). They were photographed by Peter Lindbergh The Great. You'll hear more about them soon...

----------------
